You are definitely a power of example to me . Right now I'm stuck in the house after surgery 3 weeks ago. Had a huge tumor removed from my hip. I am more uncomfortable this week than I was last week. I'm greatful that my weight is not creeping up- no excersize, barely moving off my butt!!!! One day at a time. Hope I will feel better tomorow....................hope you will too!!~~~~~~~Kim

Topic: ONE YEAR!!
I can't believe it has been a year!! WOW!  It has been one of the best years I have had.  I am sooo much healthier.  I am thinner!  I feel great!  Now all I have to do is lose the last 15 pounds and it will be all good.  But you know what?  I am in no hurry.  I am already reaping the benefits of my surgery.  I now have a much longer lifetime to work on the rest of the weight.  Thank you, all my friends, for you support and advice that I so needed and used constantly!  I could never had the wonderful experience without all of you.  I hope that I can be as inspiring to you as you have been to me.
Your friend,  Eldy

Cynthia,

Thank you for your wonderful message!! We all have some bumps along the way. I know that the dreadful weather outside can not be helpful at this point. I enjoy your company at the meetings and I too am glad that we are not alone on this journey.

thanks for the deep thoughts!

Topic: RE: hi everyone!!!!! back home
first i would like to congratulate you on your surgery! Your profile says 2/17/09, but I believe you mean 2010.  All I can say is make sure you get ALL your fluids in.  You could dehydrate extremely fast.  Your supposed to get 64 oz of fluid in normally, but with the diarhea, you should get more than that in.  Also, very important to get all your protein in too.  Protein shakes count as protein AND fluid.  If your still have diarhea tomorrow ( Thursday) I would call  Dr. Pohl's office for advice.  You may need an anti diarheal medication. But dont take anything without the ok from the surgeons office. Everything is different now after the  bypass.  Good luck and keep us up to date with you.  You did a wonderful thing for yourself with this surgery.  Be proud of yourself.  Your friend,  Eldy
